Sanshou is a form of Chinese kickboxing, that is currently recognized by the International Olympic Committee. Team-X-cellence is the training headquarters for Sanshou in Eastern Canada.

Sanshou allows the use of punches, kicks, sweeps, takedowns, and throws. There is no ground fighting, and elbows and knees are not permitted. Participants wear full protective gear at all times.

Sanshou allows participants the opportunity to compete at regional, national, and international level tournaments. The speed and skill developed through training in Sanshou is second to none.

Even though full body padding is worn by all participants, the following additional safety restrictions apply:
- Children ages 4-10: No contact.
- Children ages 11-13: Chest and leg contact only
- Ages 14-18: No leg strikes to the head area
- Ages 18 and older: full strikes to all legal targets allowed.

All participants of Sanshou learn the following aspects:
- Boxing
- Kickboxing
- Shuai Jaio (Chinese wrestling)
